February 13, 2009 (2:00pm est): The last week has been super busy. Along with getting a cold, I've been putting out youtube vids like there's no tomorrow: 5 new ones since the last update, although I had to remove one of the 5. The remaning 4 are embedded below. Now, as there has been massive crackdown on copywritten content on Youtube lately, I am backing up all of youtube videos here, with copies of each video, including each quality level. They are uploaded, but I am currently working on a page to organize them all. If you wan to check them out in the meantime, go here: http://www.billtvshow.com/videos/youtube/
Ok, that's all for now. More updates soon... -stf
February 6, 2009 (6:00pm est): Things have been super hectic around here in the past few weeks. I'll try to go through some of the stuff that's been going on. First of all, I finally FC'ed Cherry Bomb in Rock Band 2, which means I have now FC'ed every song ever released for the game on Expert vocals. For the lay person, FC basically means 100%. Following that up a few days later, I achieved my 500th concurrent first place score on XBox Live. I've posted a couple of new Youtube videos, including one where I ran a contest to choose 60 people to play Rock Band 2 with me and be featured in a follow-up video. There were over 600 entrants, counting the stragglers and I have picked the 60 winners (randomly) and am in the process of playing with them and recording our sessions, but I don't anticipate being done with that video for over a month. While I'm on the topic of Youtube, it is important to note that I have been having to remove some of my videos there (voluntarily so far) to avoid potential copyright issues. I will eventually be reuploading the removed ones to this site so that they will still be available to my subscribers to watch when they are no longer on Youtube. Okay, next, I have recently received a sponsorship from a pretty fantastic website that sells various equipment and parts for Rock Band. They have already given away an Ion Drum Rocker and are planning to have more giveaways in the future. You can see that I have listed them as a sponsor in the main site banner and added them to the crucial links. Go here: http://www.rockbandparts.com to check them out and subscribe to their youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/rockbandparts to find out about upcoming prize contests. A few more things to note: When Rednecks Play Rock Band 3 is in the process of being filmed and will be released when I hit 8000 subscribers on Youtube. Also, February 18th will be the 6th anniversary of this site. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I suppose there will be something special posted that day. Finally, I have changed the banner on the top of the main page to add a link to my twitter (very active) and my ustream (virtually never active). You can follow me on Twitter to get live updates about my Rock Band career, Youtube videos, Ustream sessions, and just general day to day things. That's all for now and I have embedded my last two videos below... -stf
January 20, 2009 (9:00pm est): I'm a little late again with this one, but I posted a new Rock Band video on Youtube the other day. It is a Welcome Home FC in Performance Mode, which is where you can't see anything on the screen while playing. The video is embedded below, but go to the Youtube page to watch in HD... -stf
January 12, 2009 (5:30pm est): It's the first update of the new year! First of all, I forgot to post the last two videos I put up on Youtube when they went live. They are a Rock Band song cover performed by Braiden and I, under the guise of Pandora's Beatbox, and a duet FC of Gimme Shelter by Tyson and I. The videos are in HD and are embedded at the bottom of this update. Make sure you watch the beatbox video to the very end. Secondly, there are 50 new Redneck Jokes added to the list today, bringing the total to 1740. That's absolutely mad. I'm amazed that the quality and originality of the jokes continues to stay relatively high and this is probably one of the better joke updates in awhile. These last 50 are a combination of my efforts, my cousin Ray (who has gotten a lot better at doing these recently), my brother Michael, and a few from my nephew Sean. As a little insight into how we come up with these, most of the jokes come about through phone conversations and text messages. The 50 that made the list today were carefully chosen from probably 200+ jokes that we've come up with, between the four of us, since the last update. Let me give you an example of a rejected one from my nephew Sean: "You might be a redneck if you've ever been regurgitated by a pit viper, which in turn redefined the meaning of life itself." What the hell does that even mean and how does it have anything to do with being a redneck in any remote fashion? I think it might work a bit better as a You Might Be a Conceptual Artist if... joke. Anyways, I add the best ones to my master list (27 pages, Size 8 TNR font, single spaced) as time passes and then make an update here once a significant enough number of the them have been amassed to make an update. The jokes are usually the second or third most viewed section of the site, which is one reason we try to keep it going strong, but also because it's kind of fun coming up with them. So, check out the new ones, check out the videos, and keep an eye out for more updates soon... -stf
